A Pamper Night

Life gets busy right, and we forget to slow down and take time for ourselves. You might have your routine that you try and stick to and you might have "self-care task" jotted down somewhere in that routine but from experience, that is the first thing to be dropped when time is running short. And that is exactly what happened to me a couple of weeks ago. Luckily for me, I have some amazing friends who were going through the same assignment stress I was and decided to have a pamper night which consisted of drinking wine, listening to music, and doing face masks. I cannot put into words how amazing I felt after just putting aside half an hour to relax.

So if you're like me, and you don't know where to start with pampering yourself, I created a list of some ideas. Some take five minutes, some take longer, and you can mix and match all of them depending on the level of pampering you want to experience:

  1. Light some candles (ideally scented) to allow your body to begin to relax as candles can be synonymous with spas and relaxation or even just the end of the day wind down if you use candles often

  2. Put on some music - this can be whatever music you want it to be from instrumental to Disney to pop music

  3. Pop open some bubbles, whether this is prosecco or wine (or non-alcoholic if you prefer), just treat yourself to a cold glass of something that you wouldn't normally

  4. Run yourself a long, hot bubble bath and fill it with bath salts. I tend to enjoy reading a few chapters of a book or listening to a podcast but you can do whatever helps you relax

  5. Have a full body cleanse: I mean, wash your hair but take your time, massage your scalp, use some hair oil. Use your body scrub and your lotion and your moisturizer, feel fresh.

  6. Skin care routine: first things first, use a facial cleanser to just clear some of that excess oil off your face before applying your face mask (I would suggest using an under eye mask, a lip mask, and a face mask to feel fully rejuvenated)

  7. Do your nails, or book an appointment to go and have them done either on your own, or with some friends

  8. And of course, have some yummy treats whether you want savoury or sweet. This can be anything from chocolate to splashing out a bit and getting your favourite takeaway (or you could even do some homemade cooking by finding a recipe you want to try)

There are tons of pamper ideas out there, and nights of resetting are so important. You deserve to look after you and have a little bit of luxury in your life. You could have a pamper night on your own, with friends, and even with your mum (she would definitely appreciate spending that time with you.)
